Hailing from Calcutta, India, I work as a researcher in the field of Developmental Biology and Genetics.  (Currently Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU) and 

perform the Indian Classical dance style of Manipuri professionally along with my 2 colleagues.

We like to  choreograph semi-classical/semi-theatrical modern pieces using pure classical and folk dance styles of India.

 

Apart from that, I am involved in -

- writing  (short stories, poems and anecdotes),

- regular and  Improv theatre,

- recitation, public speaking and narrative recordings ,

- photography,   designing publicity material,

- making short films

 

and my interest lies in Eastern European and Asian history, art, culture and archeology. 

 

Basically putting my fingers in more pies than I can handle. :)
